This morning you will depart for the mountains on a picturesque route which follows the Mendoza River to the Aconcagua National Park, named after the highest mountain in the Americas. The first point of interest on the route is Potrerillos Dam which affords stunning panoramic views of the reflective lake and surrounding mountains. Continue along Uspallata Valley which in the early 1800s was the route used by the Army of the Andes during their march to liberate Chile from Spanish rule. Here you will see the late colonial bridge over Picheuta River before coming to Puente del Inca, a rock formation undermined by Las Vacas River to form a natural bridge. The mountain here is stained bright yellow by sulphur coming from the nearby hot springs. The final stop is at a viewpoint to see the snow-capped peak of Mt Aconcagua which towers over the verdant valleys below. Overnight in Mendoza. (B)
