Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Belize.
Today you will be met at Belize International Airport and transferred to San Ignacio. Overnight in San Ignacio.
Day 2: San Ignacio.
Today you will be taken on a Natural History tour. Along a fascinating time line, which begins with prehistoric land formation through to the shifting of the continents. You will be able to see the movement of life in Belize through the ages; from Mayan temples in the steaming jungle to modern day traditional healers. Overnight in San Ignacio. (B)
Day 3: Free day to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the amenities of Windy Hill. Optional activities (to be paid for locally): trekking around the Maya ruins, canoeing or tubing through the caves, hiking through the rainforest, or horseback riding along jungle trails. Overnight in San Ignacio. (B)
Day 4: Morning horde-ride excursion Afternoon Xunantunich Tour.
This morning you will be taken on a guided Horseback Ride, suitable for all levels of riding experience. In the afternoon, a guided tour of the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, “Stone Woman”, which features a large pyramid called El Castillo. Overnight in San Ignacio. (B)
Day 5: Transfer to Placencia. Afternoon at leisure.
Today you will be transferred to the sixteen mile long Placencia Peninsula which is home to three communities: Maya Beach, Seine Bight, and at the southern tip, Placencia Village with a claim to the best beaches on the mainland. Overnight in Placencia. (B)
Day 6: Free day in Placencia.
Optional Barrier Reef tour. The Barrier Reef lies about half a mile off the winward side of the island. It is the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second longest in the world. Overnight in Placencia. (B)
Day 7: Free day in Placencia.
Free day for optional activities: SCUBA diving, snorkelling, fishing, tours to the Jaguar Reserve, Monkey River, Maya Ruins plus the culture of Garifuna drummers and dancers all rolled into an exciting Belize vacation. Overnight in Placencia. (B)
Day 8: Fly to Belize.
Transfer to Placencia airport for your flight to Belize International Airport to connect with your international flights. (B)
