Full Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in La Paz.

Arrive in La Paz and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: City & Moon Valley tour.

Today you will take a half-day tour visiting Plaza Murillo to see the Government Palace, the local Cathedral and the Congress building. From here continue to the Gold Museum, San Francisco Church and the biggest handicraft market in town known as the Witches Market. After the inner city, you will head to the Valley of the Moon, named after its spectacular geological scenery. (B)

Day 3: La Paz – Rurrenabaque

Fly to Rurrenabaque. Transfer to the Madidi National Park and receive information about your trip to the Ecolodge. Free afternoon in Rurrenabaque. (B)

Day 4: Madidi National Park – Chalalan Ecolodge.

Boat trip to Chalalan Ecolodge along the Beni and Tuíchi Rivers. Box lunch on the way.

Welcome lunch and after a time rest or swim in the lagoon, a short walk along the Paraba path towards    the lookout where you can see the beautiful landscape across the lagoon, mountains and Madidi rainforest. Return by canoe along the rivers leading to the Chalalan lagoon to observe a variety birds and monkeys. After dinner, a hike to observe a variety of nocturnal creatures. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Chalalan Ecolodge. Optional activities.

Morning walk through the jungle on specialist theme paths to observe and learn about the jungle flora and fauna. Among topics of interest: natural interpretation of the forest, natural history, ecological processes, medicinal plants and hardwood trees, animal behavior and bird watching.

In the afternoon, a short walk along another theme path: medicinal and tropical plants, hardwood trees, bird and insect watching.

Later, optional activities include: a canoe-ride along the lagoon, learn from video sessions about the community and the Madidi National Park or be part of an afternoon of handicrafts.

Traditional Quechua-Tacana night music and dances from local community. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Return to Rurrenabaque. Fly to La Paz.

Morning return by boat to Rurrenabaque to connect with flight to La Paz. (B)

Day 7: Transfer to Airport. (B)
