LA PAZ – COPACABANA - UYUNI – POTOSI – SUCRE
Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in La Paz.
Arrive in La Paz and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: City & Moon Valley tour.
Today you will take a half-day tour visiting Plaza Murillo to see the Government Palace, the local Cathedral and the Congress building. From here continue to the Gold Museum, San Francisco Church and the biggest handicraft market in town known as the Witches Market. After the inner city, you will head to the Valley of the Moon, named after its spectacular geological scenery. (B)
Day 3: Copacabana – Sun Island.
Morning transfer to Copacabana. and then boat transport to Sun Island to visit the Pilkocaina Temple, the Royal Staircases and the Sacred Inca Fountain. Return to Copacabana and overnight. (B)
Day 4: Copacabana
After breakfast, visit to the local church of the Holy Virgin. There is the opportunity for an optional hike to the Calvary Hill. In the afternoon you will take the bus to La Paz, whereupon you will be transferred to your hotel. (B)
Day 5: Train to Uyuni.
Today you will take the coach to Oruro where you will board the train to Uyuni. The train arrives in Uyuni late at night (either 10pm or 2am) depending on type of train. Upon arrival in Uyuni, transfer to your hotel. (B)
Day 6: Uyuni – Salt Flats.
Early departure from Uyuni to the Great Salt Flat, visiting the Train Cemetery to see remains of 19th and 20th century steam locomotives. Carry on to Colchani to observe the methods of salt extraction and continue to Incahuasi Island to observe the native cactus. Lunch served on the Salt Flat. Later visit the Coquesa Mummies and head to Tahua and your hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 7: Salt Flats – Lagoons.
Excursion to Ojo de Perdiz visiting the small lagoon complex of Cañapa, Honda y Ramaditas. (B, L, D)
Day 8: Red Lagoon – Geysers – Green Lagoon.
Breakfast and departure to the Red Lagoon for hiking and the opportunity to observe the unique flamingo population. Enjoy Sol de Mañana Geysers, Endless Ice and continue to Chalviri Lagoon, the Polques hot springs and the Green Lagoon. Later return to Uyuni. (B)
Day 9: Uyuni – Potosi.
Coach to Potosi. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. (B)
Day 10: Potosi City tour.
Visit the most important attractions of Potosí including the facade of the Compañia de Jesús church, San Lorenzo front, Santo Domingo church, and the miners neighborhood. (B)
Day 11: Potosi – Sucre. Sucre City Tour.
This morning you will take a private transfer to Sucre. Afternoon city tour. Visit the church, convent and the spectacular view of La Recoleta. Also visit Indígena Art Museum, that shows two different cultures: Tarabuco and Jalq’a, then on to “Casa de la Libertad” and the main square of Sucre. (B)
Day 12: Airport Transfer. (B)
Transfer to Sucre Airport.
