Travel Essentials
Vaccinations
It’s important that you receive the most accurate and up-to-date travel health information for the region you will be visiting. The only one qualified to provide you with this advice is your family physician or a specialist from a Travel Health clinic. All travelers should visit a doctor 4-8 weeks before departure, since most vaccines don’t provide immunity until at least two weeks after they’re given.
Travel insurance
There are hundreds of circumstances that can happen when you’re travelling that are out of your control. Absolute Latin America requires having travel medical insurance and trip cancellation insurance.
Your holiday package with us does NOT include travel insurance. In accordance with normal industry practice, we will require you to have adequate travel insurance to provide accident and medical cover before your holiday departs. Such insurance should ideally be valid from the date of booking, be valid throughout the holiday duration and financially cover any probable loss through cancellation, amendment, accident or health related problems. You should ensure you are covered for all activities you are planning on your trip.
Our Specialists at World Nomads can provide quotes and offer you insurance for your travels, please CLICK HERE for details.
Passport and Visas
Many countries require you to have a passport with at least 6 months validity remaining. Please check your passport before you travel to be certain you can meet this requirement. We strongly recommend that you contact your own government’s foreign travel advisory services, the embassy or consulate or your travel agent (if they have a specialist visa department) before departure to obtain the most up-to-date visa information. It is your responsibility to check entry requirements with the consular officials of the countries to be visited well in advance of your trip. If a visa is required, obtain it from the appropriate foreign consular representative before proceeding abroad. Allow sufficient time for processing your visa application especially if you are applying by mail.
