Day 1: Arrival in Lima

Upon arrival in Lima you will be met by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Lima. 

Day 2: Free Day in Lima

Lima is the Peruvian capital and largest city. It is located in the valleys of the Chillon, Rimac and Lurin rivers, on a desert coast overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Historical Centre of Lima was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 because of the large number of historical buildings dating back to the Spanish colonial era. You have the day at your leisure to explore this fascinating city. Overnight in Lima (B)

Day 3: Fly to Puerto Maldonado. Jungle Lodge Programme

Fly to Puerto Maldonado. Travel by boat through the rainforest reserve to your lodge.

Days 4-5: Jungle Lodge Programme

While in the jungle many activities are offered such as:

Oxbow Lake Tres Chimbadas Lake is home to giant river otters, caimans and a variety of birdlife. A short hike and a canoe trip on the lake is an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Medicinal Plants Tour The Ñape Centre provides medicine made from forest plants for use in their local clinic. The staff will guide you along a nature trail which showcases the medicinal plants used for natural treatments.

Night Walk Once the sun sets, nocturnal animals come out of hiding. Take a guided nature walk to discover the frogs, owls, bats and other creatures which are only visible at night.

Parrot Clay Lick From a blind located about 20m from the clay lick you will be amazed by the many multi-coloured parakeets and parrots which descend on this hillside by the river.

Ceiba Trail 2 hour hike to a giant ceiba tree. During the hike your guide will explain the various flora and fauna in the region.

Farm Excursion Visit the Infierno community and local farm where rainforest produce is grown.

Day 6: Fly to Cusco. Free Afternoon

Today you will take a boat back to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. The city of Cusco, the old capital of the Inca Empire is one of the most enchanting destinations in Peru. Situated in the Peruvian Andes, Cusco is surrounded by awesome mountains which perfectly compliment the blue sky and white clouds. As you explore the captivating colonial centre, marvel at Cusco’s art and architecture which offer a glimpse into her fascinating past. Overnight in Cusco. (B)

Day 7: Full Day Sacred Valley Excursion

Today you will enjoy a full day tour of the Urubamba or Sacred Valley, so named due to the number of sacred sites established by the Inca civilization. First stop will be the colourful, bustling Indigenous Market at Pisac where locals congregate to buy and sell during the main market days on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. In Ollantaytambo you will be taken on a walking excursion of the stunning Inka ruins which overlook the town below. Overnight in Ollantaytambo. (B, L)

Day 8: Train to Aguas Calientes. Machu Picchu Private Excursion

Today you will take a train to Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu town, and the closest access point to the sacred Inca city. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes you will be transferred by bus to Machu Picchu for your guided tour of the site.

The enigmatic complex of Machu Picchu, the most important and beautiful legacy of the Inca, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also included among the New Seven Wonders of the World. Return to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.  (B)

Let us know if you’d like to stay the night in Aguas Calientes so you can re-visit Machu Picchu the next day. We’ll design your programme accordingly.

Day 9: Free Day in Cusco

Today can be spent exploring the cobbled stone streets of this esteemed imperial city. Take time to enjoy the colourful markets and stunning colonial centre. Overnight in Cusco. (B)

Day 10: Fly to Lima

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lima to meet your international connection. Tour ends upon arrival in Lima. (B)
